Now, there are so many brown sugar milk tea drinks around Malaysia, and the current new viral drink is none other than Xing Fu Tang. As a milk tea fan myself, I had to try this and so I headed to the Taman Sutera Utama, JB outlet. It is located near to Sutera Mall. There is also another outlet in Taman Mount Austin.
Even though the outlet in Taman Sutera Utama has opened for more than a month, there is still a long line of people queueing up for a boba drink! I came at about 4pm on a Wednesday and even then there was also a line, but thankfully not a long one. So if you don't want to wait long, be sure to come during non-peak hours.
Xing Fu Tang originates from Taiwan and is said to be Taiwan's number 1 brown sugar milk drink spot. One of their specialties is that they stir fry their boba pearls in brown in a wok right in front of you! Then they'll scoop up the warm boba pearls and put it in your cup.
If you order the Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea, after they scoop the boba pearls into your cup, they will pour the milk tea and serve it to you. However, if you buy the Brown Sugar Boba Milk, they will pour the milk and cream, and then they will sprinkle some brown sugar and blow-torch it so that it will caramelize!
Personally, I am not a milk fan, so I didn't order the Brown Sugar Boba Milk, but it does look quite amazing and the caramelized sugar looked really delicious!
As for my verdict, I truly love the Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea. I find the boba pearls not too overly sweet, just to my liking and tastes perfectly with the milk tea. I will definitely come again in the future for this drink.
The interior part of the outlet is very spacious with many seats. The interior decor also looks really hip and cool like a cafe. This is definitely a hot spot for students or young people to hang out.
The Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea costs RM11.50 while the Brown Sugar Boba Milk costs RM12.50. It also comes with a choice of either hot or cold, but the price varies. Other drinks that you need to taste include Matcha Boba Milk, Grapefruit Green Tea and Soda and Handmade Jelly.
Xing Fu Tang opens from 12pm to 1am daily. Go there now and try out the drinks! You won't regret it!
